Description
JetCat SPH 5 helicopter turboshaft engine
The JetCat SPH 5 is a two-shaft helicopter engine. Its operating principle is similar to the JetCat SPT range, but the output is transferred through a 90-degree gearbox that normally drives a directly mounted centrifugal clutch.
Programmable drivetrain control
A Hall sensor measures gearbox output speed. The gearbox-to-main-rotor and main-to-tail-rotor ratios can be programmed in the ECU, allowing the required main-rotor speed to be set directly.
Helicopter-specific ECU software supports up to three programmable main-rotor speeds, selectable from the transmitter with a three-position switch. Electronic monitoring of both shafts keeps the rotor speed stable during load changes.
